tiddly inks challenge #31

this challenge was to make a card inspired by my favorite christmas song. my favorite is Let It Snow. i love snow for christmas. it doesn't feel like christmas without the white fluffy stuff on the ground. so here is my card.
i used a lot of different techniques here. i made a slider with a snowflake. i used acetate & embossed it with my cuttlebug snowflake folder & covered some mme papers & the harmony at home digi image which i colored with my tim holtz distress inks & some perfect pearls. then i used the home sweet home image & used more tim holtz inks & perfect pearls to color it. i used my copic to color the door & window frames. i cut out the windows & used some liquid pearls to bring in a different feel to the house. then i used picket fence stickles to create snow on the tree & ground. i used a cotton ball for smoke for the chimney. & finally i used a facet to put in the words "oh the weather outside is frightful". i am hoping that i was able to give you a feel of a cold wintry day.

i had to also add the next line inside the card because i love cozying up next to the fireplace after being outside in the cold weather. i made the fireplace using the texture fade brick wall & some distress inks by tim holtz. the cats are tiddly images. i made the rug from k & company christmas paper. i used stickles for the fire. i used flower soft for the mantel shrubbery & a star punch & martha stewart glitter for the stars.

i will probably use this card as a cover for a memory album for my christmas visit to my parents' house. i try my hardest to capture all my visits with my parents to make sure that these days will be remembered.  i know that everyone does the same, but for me it is especially important since my mother has alzheimer's & in so many years she won't remember these days & i need something to show to my kids the fun times they had with her. maybe i will post what the finished album will look like.

P.S. You're so right to capture the memories. My Dad died of Alzheimer's so I know what you're going through. Cherish every one! Big hugs!
